The sunny warm days of summer are coming soon! That means its time for you and your pup to get outside and enjoy nature. If you like to get outside by gardening here are a few tips to make your garden a safe and enjoyable environment for your dog.
1. Picking Safe Plants
Before you decide on what plants you would like to include in your garden you first have to make sure they are non toxic to dogs. ASPCA has a complete list of toxic plants to reference when choosing.

If you would like to make your garden a more exciting place for your pup consider adding some herbs. Medicinal herbs with strong scents will keep your dog busy using their strong sense of smell. 2. Designated Digging Area
Unfortunately some dogs like to dig! This can be a little discouraging when maintaining a garden but The Humane Society has some great tips on how to stop your dog from digging. 3. Water Source

4. Create Paths & Borders

5. Shelter & Comfort
On sunny days its important to have shade for your pup. Trees and awnings are great ways provide shade. Place a bed in these areas to provide a comfortable resting spot.
